NS Basic Corporation announces NS Basic/CE 1.10

Toronto, December 10, 1998 -- NS BASIC Corporation today announced the immediate availability of NS Basic/CE 1.10, its complete programming environment for Windows CE.

NS Basic/CE brings BASIC, the most widely used programming language in the world, to Windows CE HPC and HPC/Pro devices. All development is done directly on the unit itself. NS Basic/CE provides visual objects (such as boxes and buttons), serial and WINSOCK communications, financial functions, file I/O and more. It supports ActiveX objects as well as the ADO database for Windows CE, also used by Pocket Access.

NS Basic/CE 1.10 brings a number of enhancements to the product, including new easy to use objects, better debugging and program encryption. The improvements make it easier than ever to create professional looking applications for Windows CE.

The new release was created with feedback from users. "Thanks for the chance to have some input and please pass on my sincere appreciation to the development team. This is one very hot product.", said Jim Karabatsos of the Australian Visual Developers Forum, one of the beta testers.

The product includes a powerful development and debugging envronment, allowing programmers to test and modify variables and code interactively. It is designed to take full advantage of the capabilities of Windows CE and the handheld computer environment.

NS Basic/CE 1.10 runs on all current devices using Windows CE for Handheld PC and Handheld PC Pro Edition software. The price is $99.95 USD, and includes a 191 page pocket sized Handbook. The upgrade is free to all registered users and can be downloaded directly from the company's website.
