Trouble Downloading?
Trouble Downloading?

If you are having problems downloading a file from our site, there is a good utility for Windows to help you download. It recovers from a partial download so you do not have to start from the beginning each time.

We would also like to know more about your problems. We have very fast servers at our end: there is probably some sort of latency within the connection from your site to ours that is causing enough of a delay that the transfer gets interrupted.

For example, we've identified that Cox.net is not handling files properly, and that certain points in Europe are very slow.

We are gathering statistics on these latencies, and would appreciate if you could send us your traceroute information. Here is how:

  1. From the Windows Start button, click on Run.
  2. A window will appear promting you to enter Open:
  3. Enter cmd. A window will open with a C:\> prompt.
  4. Enter tracert nsbasic.com > nsbtrace.txt
  5. When the C prompt reappears (up to 30 secs), close the window.
  6. Email the file c:\nsbtrace.txt to us support@nsbasic.com
  7. Please also tell us where you are located and what kind of connection you have to the Internet.

Thank you - this information will be very much appreciated!
