NS Basic 3.2 for HPC 2000 Announced
Program BASIC Anywhere, Anytime

January 30, 2001 -- NS BASIC Corporation announced that NS Basic 3.2 for the HPC 2000 is available, a complete programming environment that takes advantage of the rich feature set of the Windows CE operating system.

NS Basic 3.2 brings BASIC, the most widely used programming language in the world, onto the hot new HPC 2000. NS Basic 3.2 features extensions providing visual objects (such as boxes and buttons), serial and WINSOCK communications, financial functions, file I/O and more. It supports a wide variety of ActiveX objects from Microsoft and third party developers.

NS Basic provides a complete visual development environment that runs completely on the HPC 2000. A major enhancement to the product, NS Basic/CE Desktop, also allows users to write programs using a visual environment on the desktop. Programs can be written and tested on a Windows-based desktop before being downloaded to the device.

"The HPC 2000 units are the fastest and most capable handheld computers yet", said George Henne, President of NS BASIC Corporation, "Developing applications for handheld devices has never been easier."

The product includes a powerful development and debugging environment, allowing programmers to test and modify variables and code interactively. It is designed to take full advantage of the capabilities of the HPC 2000 and the handheld computer environment.

NS Basic 3.2 runs on all HPC 2000 devices as well as other current Windows CE-powered devices such as the Pocket PC. The price is $99.95 USD, and includes a 200 page pocket sized Handbook. Upgrades for current users are available.
