NS BASIC/CE 5.0 RELEASED

The easiest way to program Windows CE devices gets better!

July 06. 2004 -- NS BASIC Corporation announced today announced the release of NS Basic/CE 5.0, a major upgrade to the product. It features over 50 new features, enhancements and fixes. It also includes support for Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.

"NS Basic/CE is the easiest way to develop for Windows CE," said George Henne, President of NS BASIC Corporation. "The new features add considerably to the ease of use and the power of the applications which can be developed."

Major enhancements include support for Windows Mobile Second Edition devices, 9 new program statements, many new properties on controls, new installers for many controls and many other improvements. Support for the Frame object is improved. To aid the development process, Virtual CE is now included in the installation, making it easy to develop on the desktop while connected to a device.

NS Basic allows developers who program with tools such as Visual Basic to use their experience to develop applications for Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC devices. NS Basic is a complete, powerful development environment enabling the development of applications with a true Pocket PC look and feel. NS Basic includes features such as databases, serial and IR communications, signature capture and more. Development takes place on the desktop or on the device itself.

Applications developed with NS Basic/CE can be distributed royalty free. NS Basic/CE 5.0 costs $149.95 for a single user: enterprise licenses are also available. Upgrades are free to users who bought NS Basic/CE 4 after May 1, 2004. Upgrades from previous versions start at $49.95.
