Now supports Windows CE.NET 4.2 devices

Feburary 22, 2005 -- NS BASIC Corporation today announced the immediate availability of NS Basic/CE 5.1. THe new release adds support for Windows CE.NET 4.2 devices, such as the NEC MobilePro 900c and the Psion Teklogix WorkAbout Pro and NetBook Pro.

NS Basic/CE is a VB-like development tool. It allows you to create applications on a Windows desktop computer which will run on Windows CE devices. A unique feature of the development tool is that it can also be used to develop on the device itself. With the large screen and full keyboard of devices such as the NEC MobilePro 900c and the Psion Teklogix NetBook Pro, complex applications can be effectively created and debugged directly on the unit.

"We've worked hard to make NS Basic/CE easy to use." said George Henne, President of NS BASIC Corporation. "Porting it to Windows CE.NET 4.2 devices gives developers a flexible and powerful solution for developing enterprise applications."

The new release also delivers numerous user interface improvements. A utility for converting eMbedded Visual Basic apps (eVB) to NS Basic/CE has been updated, and new samples and documentation has been added on client/server communication and the use of SQLite. The update is free to existing users of NS Basic/CE 5.0.

Existing NS Basic/CE applications will be able to run on WIndows CE.NET 4.2 devices running XScale chips, in most cases without modification. This allows the huge base of NS Basic/CE applications and developers to make immediate use of this device.
