NS Basic/CE 8.0 Released!

Features enhanced User Interface and Automatic Installers

May 26, 2009 -- NS BASIC Corporation announced today the immediate availability of NS Basic/CE 8.0. Major new features include an enhanced user interface, both in the IDE and the applications that it creates, automatic creation of device installers and a number of language extensions.

NS Basic/CE is a VB-like development tool. It allows apps to be written on a Windows desktop computer which will run on Windows Mobile devices. A unique feature of the NS Basic/CE is that it can also be used to develop on the device itself.

"The Gradient Button object we have added gives apps a whole new look and feel." said George Henne, President of NS BASIC Corporation. "But the ability to create the installer as the app is compiled makes things unbelievably faster and easier. There is no longer any need for third party software when it is time to deploy your app."

Other important improvements include the ability to save pictures, sounds and files as part of the executable, then use them easily at runtime. Efficiency improvements include executables as much as 30% smaller and and an overall reduction of download size of 75%. Documentation has been updated and improved: plus, there are over 40 improvements and fixes.

Upgrades are available to existing users starting at $49.95. Customers who purchased NS Basic/CE after April 1, 2009 will receive the upgrade for no charge.
