There are various high-quality applications here. It is tough for authors to compete in the Open category and tough for judges to decide a winner. Some entries are very professional and others are pure fun or show off some cool tricks.

mo:Blog is a mobile blogging tool for PalmOS devices. With mo:Blog you can post new messages to most blogging applications. It allows you to upload binary files - like images - to blogs that support this.

Judge's Comments: Clean look and well executed features. Great handy tool for personal and professional use. Ideal with wireless connection.

Golf Score Card by Chip Mattson
I have written a Golf Score program, I call simply Golf Score Card. It was originally intended for Disc Golf, but can be used for ball Golf as well.

Judge's Comments: Golfers love this kind of tools. Some improvement would be needed to be a sophisticated application.

Judge's Comments:Incredibly detailed calculations. The UI could use work.

 

RallyCalc by Brooke Jacobs
RallyCalc is a freeware program for the Palm OS. It assists in doing calculations for TSD Rallying. In particular, it is designed for use in Ontario, Canada where navigational rallies are timed to the second. Hopefully it will be of use in other parts of the world. This program calculates the ideal time due for given distances, and helps to time into checkpoints correctly.

Judge's Comments: This must be very convenient for TSD Rallying. Easy to use.

Stopwatch by Mark Sharp
This program was written in NSBasic 3 and as an experiment, I decided to see if I could use system ticks to get a display of hundredths of a second. While the hundredths of a second portion of the program is not terribly accurate, it is sort of close when compared to an actual stopwatch, and I thought it made the program itself more interesting.

TCLogger by Mark Sharp
TCLogger is a timecode logging application for video professionals. The Palm program allows videographers to log and rank shots in the field, then use the PC application to convert the PDB file to a text log format that the editor can use to import and batch digitize footage. The program eliminates the step of manually entering all of the shot information, or manually searching through footage and picking the best shots to digitize.

Judge's Comments: Straightforward, easy to use program.

TennisMaster is a program which helps tennis umpires or anybody who is interested in Tennis to keep the scores, side changes etc. easily in focus. With TennisMaster it's also possible to manage players and already played matches.

Judge's Comments: Keeping scores could never be easier with this tool. The instant stats and other features make this application a complete package. Nicelooking graphics. Well laid out.

Helps to find a video. It's possible to import/export data to Excel.

Judge's Comments: Elegant graphics and colors. Nice use of tabs. In German.

VINS by Jean-Philippe Pasquier
VINS is a wine related software for Palm OS handheld computers.

Judge's Comments: Must have item for wine lovers. Many features to satisfy serious users. Good amount of information.


WtTools by Charles R. Tomkinson
Wt Tools is a Nutrition and Fitness tool useful in managing weight loss. It serves as a daily journal of all activities performed and foods eaten with their associated nutritional values (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat and fiber).

Judge's Comments: Well thought application. Little bit slow access to DB.
