Runtime.hpc.exe

This installs a minimal NS Basic/CE Runtime 7.0 onto handheld Windows CE devices, such as the HPC 2000, HPC Pro and HPC 2.0. It should be installed on systems which will be running programs you have developed using NSBCE. It is freely distributable. Once installed, you can run NSBCE programs by tapping on them. It will not allow you to develop or modify NSBCE programs. NOTE: For old HPC Pro and HPC device, you may also need to install the Script and perhaps the System modules that follow here. Approx 1.2 megs.

It should be installed on systems which will be running programs you have developed using NSBCE. It is freely distributable. Once installed, you can run NSBCE programs by tapping on them. This is the same as Runtime.hpc.exe for 7.0, except it also installs the standard ActiveX controls. Approx 4.7 megs.

This is the same as Runtime.ppc.exe for 7.0, except it also installs the standard ActiveX controls. Approx 4.7 megs.

Runtime.WinCE.exe

This is the same as Runtime.ppc.exe for 7.0, except it is for devices running Windows CE 4.2 or higher that are not Pocket PC devices. Approx 1.4 megs.

RuntimeFat.WinCE.exe

This is the same as RuntimeFat.ppc.exe for 7.0, except it is for devices running Windows CE 4.2 or higher that are not Pocket PC devicess. Approx 3.5 megs.

Script.exe

This installs the NS Basic/CE Script Engine, together with a program called Object Viewer, which lists the Objects installed on the system. It isn't needed for many units, as the Script Engine is in ROM already. July'99: updated to include support for PPC running Windows CE 2.11. Error messages are now displayed properly on all units, too. Approx 2.5 megs.

System.exe

This installs the NS Basic/CE System files. It isn't needed for many units, which already have MFC and OLE installed in ROM. July'99: updated to include support for PPC running Windows CE 2.11. Approx 2.6 mehs.

Update211.exe

This is NS Basic/CE 2.11, a free upgrade for all NS Basic/CE 2.x users. It has a number of enhancements and bug fixes. It installs over an existing NS Basic/CE 2.x installation - don't bother downloading if you don't already have NSBCE 2.x running on your device. If you are asked if you want to overwrite existing file, say Yes. To read what's new, check out the NS Basic/CE 2.11 Release Notes. Note: Fresh copy of file uploaded 2/21/00! Approx 900k.

Update110.exe

This is NS Basic/CE 1.10. It has a number of enhancements, including quite a few new objects and properties. It installs over an existing NS Basic/CE 1.00 installation - don't bother downloading if you don't already have NSBCE. When is asks if you want to overwrite existing file, say Yes. It loads in the update, a new Help file and new samples.

WCELOAD.EXE

This is an important patch for Palm Size 2.11 units from Microsoft. There's a bug in the install software that causes hangs in the "Setting Registry Entries..." step. This file contains a patch and installation instructions for it. This file is now being included on the latest NS Basic/CE release CD, but if you have an older copy, you'll need this patch, especially for The Big Red Toolbox. Approx 80k.
